Default Understanding Pricing

Hello

I'm sure this has been gone over a million times but at least 975,000 of those times were US.

So here is where I am at. I am shopping today for a Screw 4X4 5.5 302A with max tow.

MSRP seems to be 58.3K +- 1K on the quote I have received depending on minor details.

Invoice Appears to be about 52.6K.
My 2nd quote showed me X plan was 53.8K and A plan 51.8K

The 1st quote I got with no strong arming at all has thrown me. I did a complete review of the window stickers from my A plan offer above and the only differences is the cheap one has a step (+400) and is missing the side mirror spotlight (-250) and a tire upgrade (-350). MSRP corresponding shows as $200 less but invoice would probably be 150 less.

However he starts at a pricing of 51.6K, knocks off 4.75K delivery allowance, 1K for Costco and then another 1.5K from the dealer. All in it gets down to 44.4K.

Am I wrong or would A plan be (51.8K - 4.7K - 1K -0.2K (difference MSRP) = 45.9K? Should I consider this a smoking deal or have I missed something and should grind for more?

What am I missing?

145" Screw 5.0 with 302a is retail $54949 incl. freight/AC tax, etc.

Carcostcanada invoice is $49438. From that, deduct 2% for dealer holdback to get $48449.

Now deduct $1000 for Costco, and $4750 for the employee event. You get something around $42699.

If you could get that truck for $500 on top of that, $43 200, I'd say that would be a very good deal.

I don't think you can get max tow with a 5.0 with the 302a package, though. You can get "tow package" only, as far as CCC thinks anyway.

Hello

Thank-you for the reply.
The 5.5 I mentioned refers to the box length, not engine.
With the max tow you need to have the 3.5L ecoboost so I didn't specifically mention it.

Above what you specced it does have the 3.5L engine, a nav system, FX4, max tow, a step ladder and max tow. Takes the CCC to 52.8k invoice (same as what the dealer showed me.

So MSRP is 58k not the 54k you looked at but my price offered is only 2k over your minimum.

Sorry, I thought you had made a slight typo.

Given your clarification, the numbers seem to look something like:

$52800 (invoice) - 1000 (costco) - 4750 (employee) - 1166 (holdback=0.02*58300) + 500 (profit) = $46384 .

I think the holdback is 2% of the base MSRP (before options) actually, so you will have to adjust for that.

You may be risking someone else buying the unit while you obsess about the last few hundred dollars. Since the ultimate asking price indicates that the dealer is willing to let this unit go for less than above calculation, unless you see a problem with that math I'd go sign the contract and enjoy your new truck.
