i am considering swapping my 3.5 for 5.0 V8, will it affect the 6 speed transmission in any way?

 

That's cool and all but what generation truck are you planning on working on ?
Also, yes, the tranny will be affected.

The bell housing will be different as well as the software of the TCM and pretty much all other modules really.
The cooling circuit for the tranny will have to be rerouted now that you won't have a CAC.

I'm sure there's at least 100 other things that will have to be verified.

You will quickly realize that it's an extensive swap mainly die to the amount of electronics we have in the trucks now.

 

2nd gen i believe.. sounds extensive..i may reconsider due to variables you mentioned, i can do without the hassle.. , truck runs great as it is now.. thanks for reply..
