Map Updates over Wi-Fi?
I know that the SYNC software -- excluding maps -- keeps itself updated automatically over Wi-Fi (obviously provided the AUTO-UPDATE is on and the truck is connected to a wireless network) I have seen this occur in several vehicles, and it is unremarkable.
And...
I was under the impression that map updates had to be purchased - either on a CD, a USB or a SmartCard -- and installed from inside the vehicle. I have also done this in the past, but it's usurious!
However...
A colleague told me yesterday that map updates could be downloaded over Wi-Fi if the vehicle is inside - or very close to - the service area at the local dealership.
Is this true?
