Default Worth keeping????

I have a 05 f150 xlt with 170k miles. Trying to decide if this truck is worth fixing and keeping for long term or start over. Has cloth interior with serious stains in carpet and seats. Outside is rough. Let my daughter help me clean my truck... i washed out bed after cutting some wood while she sprayed all clearcoat off my hood. Gas tank filler has rust from door hitting. Pass exhaust manifold is ticking pretty good. Rear end cluthplates need redoing. I like truck but dont love truck. Has gryphon tuner and brandnew tires. Everything else is stock. Runs good minus mechanical problems. Almost payed off even with value of truck so i dont know if its worth trade in either. whst do you guys think?

It sounds like you didn't love it for a few yrs. That's a tough call. They won't give you beans on a trade but as beat up as some trucks are they are still worth something. If you can do some or all of the fix up then maybe its worth it. In my opinion owning a truck is way better than a huge truck payment

Keep your truck for a beater and buy something new for DD? Are you constantly repairing it?

I definitely wouldn't trade it in, but you may be able to find someone who will give you a few grand for it.

Sounds like you already decided. You didn't really state anything positive about how it sits currently lol

"Paid off even with the value of the truck". So you owe as much on the truck as its worth? If so, you are screwed with all those problems it has. Hope I am reading that wrong for your sake. Otherwise I think you need to repair it and get rid of it. If you didn't have the thought of selling it, you wouldn't have made your.post.

Donate it and get the tax write off next year.

There are places that fix up beater donated vehicles, then give them to families that need them.

Nevermind, just saw you still owe on it.
Sounds like you're stuck.

I actually really like truck. Runs good and has ton of power. Im a mechanic by trade so fixing it isent a huge problem but the time and wifee wanting new truck put me at odds. If i decided to fix exhaust manifold oem is proven to fail but dorman has aswell. Headers seem overkill for this old of a truck. As for clutch packs i have no idea...
