Default Wiring For Factory Sub

Y'all, I have a request. I have looked, and searched, and tried, and found pictures, and write ups...but nothing yet that is truly concrete.

I picked up a factory sub and amp today (for a 2004-2008) from a local pawn shop for $60. I have a 2010 without the premium sound so I thought I'd try to hook it up and get just a hair more bass. I'm 46. I don't need no stinking window rattle.

Anyway, does anyone/can anyone tell me what pins do what on this connector? The way I figure it there should be a 12v in, ground in, remote in, speaker + in and speaker - in. But I tried to connect all of them tonight and got nothing. Again, I found several pics or diagrams of the pin layout, but the speaker wouldn't output...yet the speaker tested fine when connected to an independent source. Fried my iPod trying to figure out which pins do what.

Anyway, any help? I'd just love if someone could get an up close pic of their amp in connector and possibly a Volt reading on the pins.

I know this thing can work with an aftermarket HU without having to buy another freaking harness. It's just inputs and outputs. No special voodoo makes it tick.

Any help is appreciated. Pic of pins below.

Hopefully you can work it out with all that....

Violet/Light Blue thick wire is +12V always
Pin 1 is the "Enable" I've just used switched 12V from my aftermarket Headunit to power it
Pin 2 is Ground
Pin 7 is Speaker +
Pin 8 Speaker -

So it's just like the drawings I found. I read is few places the remote was only 5v so that was probably my issue. I was only putting 5v to the amp enable.

Doh! Thanks for the help.

I originally did the same.. and found it not to work all the time with the 5V.. so changed it to 12V and its been perfect for 2 years.

I swear. I hooked it all up today to a battery I have for my boat. Just like the pictures show. And nothing!

Maybe the freaking amp is bad. Whatever. I just ordered a cheap little amp off of Amazon and I'll wire it in. Stupid Ford proprietary crap!
