I have a new to me 2006 SCREW Lariat. A couple times I've rolled it down, but it would roll back up unless I open the door. Is this related?

Thanks!

I was having problems not being able to roll up the rear drivers side window. I cleaned the contacts and still no luck... Guess i'll have to see what else I can find.

Also I have an 04 FX4 and I did not have the little plastic protectors and my contacts were different, just an fyi for anyone else who is going to do this.

Had issues with driver side and passenger side switch on 2k6 Super Crew 4x4. Pulled out and cleaned with sandpaper and wiped off the buildup and they work like new. Definitely worth a shot vs. buying expensive switches.

Good do it yourself project. Thanks for the tech article.

Mine did the same thing but it was only the passenger rear window on my ext cab. I figured I would worry about it when the passenger front quit working.

It fixed itself. No problems now.

Im subscribing here in case it quits again

You will need a small flat head driver or a flat pick and about 30mins.

Frist you will need to get the switch out. For me I pried up with my hands to pop the cover off the door panel, Unpluged the harnesses from the window switch, mirror and doorlock.

Then I used my pick to unclip the 4 points holding the switch on the door panel cover.

Once out you'll need to unclip 3 clips on each side to take the bottom cover of the swich off.

Again sorry for the bad pictures....

Now to remove the top cover youll need to take the rocker switches off. I again used my pick, push down on one side as if to roll down the window and pry up with the pick to pop off the rocker switch. (Did the same for the windows lock switch)

https://www.f150forum.com/attachment...1&d=1284269705

Now that you have all the rockers off you'll need to take out the little seals (they just sit inside)

https://www.f150forum.com/attachment...1&d=1284269841

Once that is done you have two more clips on each side to pop off the top cover. (If you have window locks watch out for the contact its a little piece that just sits on top of the switch under the cover)

https://www.f150forum.com/attachment...1&d=1284269929

Then the magic happens.. you see just how crapy this switch is made but i'll leave my personal options out of this for now...

https://www.f150forum.com/attachment...1&d=1284270408

I used a q-tip and some alcohol to get under the contact to clean it up... You will beable or at least I was to see how bad it is from the rest of the contacts like the back windows that I didnt use to much.

Then pop it back together and plug it up and let the good times roll... up

Okay bad joke but I hope this help's someone save some money.

Thanks,
awesome fix! Just bought a uses one from scrap yard and it stopped working within a year. Took it apart like you showed and voila! Power windows!

His post is 100% accurate. I did that and it would go down, but not up. I then used a tiny piece of 800 grit sandpaper on the contactors (any old school people in here, like cleaning points), sprayed out with air, boom! Works perfect. Ford wanted over $100 for the switch. 15 min, like a new one!

thanks for the post!
