Default Window Squeak

Good evening folks, I have an annoyance that I hoped someone could help me fix. My driver's window is squeaky, rolling up or down, but not all the time. When I just get a wash it will hardly make a sound, but then on very hot or cold days it will squeak terribly. It doesn't sound like the motor assembly to me, it sounds more like the glass than any components within the door panel. I have cleaned the window thoroughly but it didn't seem to make much of a difference.

Any ideas?

Man both my front windows do the exact same thing. I guess it's the rubber wipers on both sides of the window that clean the window of fog/rain as it goes up and down. I sure hope that's what is making it squeak, 'cause I sure as heck don't need to be replacing the window assembly !

It's not the rubber seals. Take off the inner door panels. Find the cables that roll the windows up and down. Now locate the 4 white plastic wheels the the cables roll on. Lubricate these; they are hard to get to, but the are the cause of the noise.

On mine it was a bracket close to the top on the inside of the door, about 8 inches from the back of the window. It was touching steel to the glass and making a terrible squeal/squeak. I bent it back out of the way, but it did scratch the window. Then this past winter when it was 25 below Fahrenheit, closing the door the window just shattered because of that scratch. Kind of a pain, literally, to replace a window in that temp. Can't wear your gloves to do most of the work outside. Minor frostbite.

Mine used to do this last year, mine was the bottom pulley on the inside of the door I just oiled it up and they've never made a noise since.

My rear passenger window squealed for a few weeks and I tried to clean the glass and rubber seals thinking it was squealing but it never fixed it. Would agree with others to try and get door panel off to inspect and lubricate pulleys. My window regulator broke this Saturday and it was one of the pulleys that broke. I bet some light lubrication might have prevented it. That squeal is likely the strain of cable and pulley
