window problems
I have a 04 FX4 and I have been having problem with my window not wanting to roll down it started out that only the driver control panel could roll all four windows up or down so I thought that my unlock and lock switch went out but after about a week of this I have lost power to all window but the back glass and when I press the switch I lose the lights in all switches I first thought it was a fuse or relay but looking at the owners manual all window and back glass are on the same relay so I don't know if I have a short or just a bad control panel switch and I don't want to take it to a shop and spend a small fortune if I can fix it myself
Cleaning the switches probably won't do much if you're losing power to everything. Another common problem with trucks of our generation is a ground wire in the rubber boot between the door and the truck. Spray it with some water or WD40 to lube it up a little and slip it out of the door or the truck so you can see the wires and look at the wires in there. Many a time one of the ground wires breaks and you lose everything.
so I looked at the wiring and found that the ground wire had been cut into by the previous owner and was pieced back together incorrectly and finally just fell apart so I reconnected them correctly and it fixed the driver door panel I also took it out and cleaned it since I was there and can control all windows but none of the passenger doors have control over the windows and they don't lose power when you press the switch and they all went out at the same time so I don't see it as a dirty switch but I could be wrong and thank you all for the advice its really helped me so far

Glad you found the problem with the wire, before you start overthinking the fact that no one can control their own windows, check your window lock. I am constantly resting my arm on mine and locking the windows. Hope it works out to be something as simple as that. Good luck.
when I took the driver switches out last night to clean them I took it apart and found that my unlock and lock switch's metal plate under the switch to engage the lock was off course and cleaned the plate and receiver with rubbing alcohol and Q-tips and put it back together and checked all the wires and wiring harness all was good and still nothing so I don't know if my unlock and lock switch is fried or I did something wrong
