So today i installed a new window motor in the front driver side door. when i press the up button the window goes down and when i press the down button the window goes. did i do something wrong or did i get the wrong motor?

I put power windows in my truck... There was a short jumper harness on the motor. And that connector looked like it could get plugged in backwards. That would make the switch work backward.
