Window fixed for no bucks!!!
Thanks to all on this forum and especially to Bucko our moderator.
Ya'll know the story 2004 scab windows stopped all together. Took apart the switch and cleaned real well, no worky. At the suggestion of Bucko I pulled the wire boot apart and VOILA black ground wire broke in 2. No extra wire so I wound up removing the door panel, again with forum help, and wiggled enough wire to install a waterproof solder-less terminal. Switch still not workingon it's own but would when I applied extra pressure to the contacts. So I pulled out the solder gun and re-surfaced the contact and PRESTO!!! Works like a champ!!!
Took the time to fix the annoying squeak. Oiled the bejezes out of the rollers with cable lube I use on my motorcycles.
BTW, a diagnosis tip, when my window wasn't working the rear window de-icer light came on when I depressed the switch. I don't have rear window de-icer on my truck. Bucko says"sounds like a ground issue and he was right.
Thanks to all past and present posters and especially to Bucko.
