Default Why am I getting bad gas mileage?

Hey guys i have an 05 4.6 v8 f150 2wd and am getting 12-13mpg. i was wondering if thats normal? i just changed my fuel filter and cleaned the maf sensor. i have true duals and am fixing to get a k&n air filter (not cai just filter). i drive very conservatively and im not running big tires, just 265/70/17 bfg ats. i was wondering if there is anything i should clean or change that might be causing my bad mileage problem. thanks

how about rpm... how high they are in your conservative way of driving?
around the town, im getting around 16mpg in my 05 5.4, i also drive conservative in the town, which mean i stay usually between 1k-2k rpm.

Yeah I'm having the same problem. I've been getting 16 on the highway.
Everything is new and fresh in my truck.

I went from 13-14highway to 16highway just by going from the 35psi they had in them when i got the truck to 40 when i checked a month later w/ my regular monthly maintenance.

also you might want to clean/change the 02 sensors. could be getting a little dirty. what is the best you have gotten w/ the truck and what conditions were they?

how do i clean the o2 sensors?.... and i was getting about 15mpg when i first go the truck a year ago with 72,000 miles on it, it now has 92,000. i did the gotts mod and it started to get worse (like 13) so then i put it back to stock a week later and it never went back to 15mpg.
