Would that be a belt or the actual pulley?

Check the belt tensioner. They like to throw the bearings out of them..the alternator bearings are another common concern we see alot of.. it will charge fine but start out with noise only at idle but over time get progressively louder.

Shouldn't be an issue with the belt, it would just be the pulleys themself, if you were to take your belt off and give them a spin you'll be able to feel/hear if there is a problem. Of course what bud said is a valid possiblity

Do you do any off roading. Where water or mud may have gotten in the alternator. Just remove the belt and spin them individually because when running these motors like to carry the noise making it difficult to determine the exact location.. good luck if you have any questions feel free to ask.. I have 12 yrs of working on fords under my belt. Merry Christmas
