Default When do I need a tuner?

I just had my exhaust done (SIDO Magnaflow) this week, and my K&N CAI just arrived in the mail. My question is, can I go ahead and install it, or do I need to get a programmer/tuner first? I am leaning toward a Gryphon, unless y'all talk me into something better. Oh, truck is an '06 Screw FX4, 5.4L. Thanks for your help.

Can a mod please change "did" to "do" in the thread title? Thanks!

You should really get the tuner since you are now going CAI and exhaust. One reason could be to protect against the lean issues that can arise from the use of a CAI. Not that the K&N is known for this since its actually quite a passive CAI as they go.

The other would be to actually get the benefit from having the CAI and exhaust on your truck.

the Gryphon from PHP is a great product and I like mine very much. I also have a SCT Livewire (VMP) (Troyer) and enjoy it as well.
