Wheels and Tires
Didn’t find any other appropriate forum for this topic. How many people have installed 20x14 wheels on their F-150’s? I was originally going to throw some 20x12 -51 wheels, but saw I could get a 20x14 -76 wheel set and Federal tires for only a $100 more. I’ve seen a few pics on Custom Wheel Offsets with the same gen F-150, same two wheel specs, and they fit with a 3” front leveling kit with some minor plastic trimming and maybe some minor metal trimming depending on some other things. What I’m asking isn’t necessarily figment on the vehicle itself, but the tires I can get for both sets are a 33x12.5. How bad would it be to stretch a 12.5 tire over a 14 wide wheel? Also, if I went with the bigger of the two wheel sets, what wear and tear could I expect? I off-road here and there when I go hunting and camping, but nothing too extreme anymore since I blow out both UCA’s in Moab on a Jeep trail.. So if anything it’ll be heavily traveled gravel roads and maybe some dirt without any major bumps or things to mess anything up. I know if I want to off-road I should probably go with an 18x9 wheel with a less serious negative offset, but I absolutely love the look of this gem F-150 with serious stance. Only looking for positive info please and pics of members similar setups are encouraged for posting. Thanks!

Gravel roads? Your paint job is going to LOVE that tire/wheel combo...

I have crappy pint at it is and am intending on re-painting in a few years. I will also be installing oversized mud flaps to help and maybe some custom fender flares. I’m looking for more positive comments please. This may not be everyone’s taste, but it is mine. Thanks for the reply.

Maybe somebody with your taste will chime in then..

You’re going to be replacing a lot of parts often if you go with a 3” level, especially if you even slightly go off road.

with the 14 wide or both? I understand that the width and offset is essentially “bowing” the axle and putting stress on the bearings and seals. I also believe my truck currently has at least a 2” level and I’ve never had any issues with it. It’s just not in my budget to get new struts at this point. This is my DD, if it only saw street, with the occasional fire road, what other wear parts would wear quicker and typically how often? I’m basically going to be doing an overhaul on most of my components along with the new wheels and tires.

Please get flares to cover them.
Just as an aside, that's more or less form over function. don't go 3" on your level.
