Default Wheel question!

Okay I tried searching but couldn't come up with much. So I'm tired of my played out fuels so it's time to change 'em! I like how much my rims stick out now so i want to keep that. my rims right now are 17x9 -12 offset. The new wheels are 17x8.5 0 offset. Will they stick out the same? I know it's a more positive offset but I don't know if the wheel width would play a role in it. Any help would be appreciated.

It is roughly a half an inch inward( back under truck)tire width would make difference if putting wider tire on it.

For instance to make up that difference you would have to put a tire 1 inch wider tire ( half an inch on each side)

There is only a -.25" difference in backspacing with the new 17x8.5 w/ 0 offset plus the rim is 1/2" narrower which pulls it in another 1/4" on the outside for an overall 1/2" less wheel/tire sticking out past your fenders.

You can't really compensate with going to a wider tire or you'll risk rubbing the UCA's unless you want to use spacers and you shouldn't under size or exceed the recommended rim width that your tire is made for.

What size tire are you running?
