Default wheel bearing torque

Need to replace my wheel bearings. Going to get the rotor kit and replace rotor, pads etc. My torque wrench only goes up to 250 ft lbs. Torque spec is 295. Should I take it to 250 then just give it a little more or would 250 suffice?

Thanks
Chris

Default Don't skimp on proper torque

Ford knows the spec. I was told by a Ford tech I know well the oddball wheel bearing used on these trucks really needs to be torqued properly for the best service life. Will 250# plus a grunt get it done? I don't know, but I found a local parts house who rented me a torque wrench very cheaply and I slept better knowing I did it right. I also replaced the big nut as recommended, it's supposedly a 1-shot deal. It's your butt riding it, do you really want to leave a potentially fatal failure to chance ?
