So on my programmer if I program the rpms higher it adds that amount of rmps to my idle, not what I want it to idle at?

 

Yes.. It bumps it up from the base idle you have now... So adding 25 rpm's to an existing idle of 500, will bring it up to 525 once its programmed. The programmer won't show the overall idle increase, it shows just how much MORE you want to increase it.

 

What should my standard idle be at?

 

500 - 600. It depends on your region, tune, overall health of the engine, and its components.

 

Mine is set to 600...works perfect for me ...Edge set to level 2

 

I have no programmer - my 4.6 idles at 650 with and without AC.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated okay I try to work every morning for about 30 minutes when I get to work my truck is running hot but the gauge said it's not whenever I put in the park and run smooth but then put it in the drive again the motor sound like it's running hot but the gauge saying its good.
