Default what is this vibrating?

I'm assuming its to assist the pulling of the motor. Ive been chasing a vibrating metal sound for two months now. Sounded like it was under truck. Looked and looked. Opened hood the other night and put my hand on this piece and it stopped making the sound. Does it have to be there or should I just tighten. It's the bracket in middle of pic with loop in it

That's just a lifting bracket. Shouldn't hurt anything by removing it bit if you can loosen the nut (or bolt) then try tightening it up. Maybe use a couple lockwashers or some threadlocker to keep it from getting loose in the future. That rattle isn't some of that exhaust pipe heat shielding somewhere down below is it? I've had that happen to me on several different rigs over the years.... a real PITA!

No the rattling completely stops when I stop the bracket from moving. First thing I check was heat shields
