What trans options do I have?
I am now running the sts kit, with about 7-8psi at wot. I can tell that my trans is slipping. What options do I have for a 06 xlt with the 4.6? Does anyone know how much $ it would be to rebuild a stock trans? Is there any performance options?

a better valve body will increase shift speed and line pressure which will keep the clutch packs from slipping. id start with that before rebuilding the whole tranny

I was looking at the troyer valve body, but dont know if it will fit. It says it fits the 2004 & newer 5.4 3v. I will call, but still want more options. First I need to figure out how to I.D. my trans. Anyone know how to?

i would just run that tranny as is, go to a salvage yard and pick up an empty casing and have a tranny built to ur needs, in the long run it well be cheaper, i had one built here in canada for a ford ranger that i put a 5.0l in and was pushing 450 hp, the tranny cost about 600$ to build and the casing was 150$,id imagine it has gone up a bit but the parts in the us r about half price as here, after that ull have peace of mind and be able to roast those tire with confidence that the tranny wont blow up,
