Default What the &$#&%$# is that Squeak????

Preface - I did do multiple searches here, read about the parking brakes ad nauseum. I even posted a thread asking if there were any alternate rear calipers that had an integral parking brake like the Mustang rear caliper.

I am not even sure if the squeal is coming from the back, just know it's on the right side.

I have:
Pulled off all wheels, checked brake pads, checked for any metal filings, checked for any obvious metal rubbing, checked for anything not right, all seems good, been going on for half a year. Always when rolling from a stop, goes away when brakes applied. Even used a quality set of brake pads for trucks, no junk, as I tow a Cobra, do not want the brakes failing when going down a hill.

So, what else could it be???????

HELP!!!!!!

So, what am I left with?

Might be a bearing in the axle.

A possibility, but if I ride the brake lightly while accelerating, the noise stops. As well, the noise happens no matter the heat or atmospheric conditions. Or even with the front wheels turned, changing loads.

I may swap out brake pads just to see?

Gotte be others here with the noise who have solved it?

Might try putting some brake quiet spray or lube on your pads when you do the swap.

UPDATE:

So while home on forced social distancing, and having all the rear parking brake and new pads, did a full overhaul of the rear brakes.

Found the brake pads to be sticking on the sliders, so replaced pads and sliders. Caliper OK.

Had replaced the rotors a few months back, still good and clean, no wear.

Parking brake on both sides was a mess. Locked actuators, shoes braking apart, gunked up, unhappy. So rebuilt and replaced everything, cleaned and fixed actuators, parking brake now works and releases fully.

Test drive, no squeak! Much better brake feel too. So now have better rear brake action than before.

I found these exact issues and had to rebuild my rear parking brakes just last week. Nice to have a parking brake again
