Default What’s it worth??

First I have to admit I am not a ford guy. So I am asking for yours guys help on this. A guy I work with has a 05 f150 stx 4x4. Hidden 4 door long bed. 4.6 I believe it is. 150,000 miles on it. Some very minor rust over the wheel wells. He parked the truck about 5-6 years ago when it needed tires, ball joints, a leaf spring, and I think that was about it back then. It’s been sitting on his paved driveway the last 5-6 years. I know lots of stuff is prolly set up now and there is probably more to fix then what it needed 5-6 years ago. But I think I can pick this truck up for $600. I’m going to do all the work to it. It’s going to be my 2nd car. So I have time to fix it. Is it worth it?? Is $600 to much?

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The 4.6 is a good engine.

^^^^ Agree
If you only got 10,000 miles out of it, your cost would be 0.06 per mile. I've had to drive mine 250,000 miles and without factoring in my maintenance cost my cost per mile is still higher than six cents.

Buy it in a heartbeat with the caveat that you don’t mind putting the time into fixing it. I actually sold mine and bought a new truck for what my time and parts were costing me to keep my ‘04 going to my satisfaction; my time is a priority and I shan’t squander it. If you have the time $600 is great, I was gonna say $500. Just be prepared for a hassle...and check out the frame! I’ve seen more than a few trucks, moreso 11th gens than 10th gens, fold in half as soon as they’re put on the lift. I prefer the c channel over the boxed any day.
