Use MDF board man. I have built a few boxes but angles are difficult. Also, I want a ported one and thats a whole different ball game than building a sealed box.

I have a similar sealed box already under there. It fits very snug. If I buy this one, ill be putting my sealed one up for sale.

I hear what your saying about the airspace and all that.N yes your right, but if you follow the same shape and same debth of a standard under seat box,you will be fine.N yes might be alittle off,but thats the fun of doing it yourself.I did my friends box and his sounds fine, after some fine tunning of the angles and whatnot, lol. Now this is just me,i prefer to build things myself and see if it works and if does like it did in my friends truck,i just saved some good money. Now if he wants to spend the extra money and get something professional thats good, but want to explore and see if it works, great also

Just like 08REDFX stated, you need to check the requirements of the subwoofer you plan to use, then you can use a sub enclosure calculator (you can find several online) for what basic shape you are going to build. If you do not have the right amount of airspace it will sound like crap! You can make up for small miscalculations in airspace by adding or removing Polyester Fiberfill otherwise known as polyfill. Check here for some good info on making a small box sound "big"...

I built a pretty sweet custom enclosure for my 94 Ranger that fits in the space where the drivers side jump-seat went. I used a 10" Memphis Audio sub, and it sounds killer! I can post a couple pics of the box if anyone is interested... Speaking of, can I post images from my HDD? Or do they need to "hosted" online somewhere first?

for 80 bucks, I'd leave it up to the professionals, buy the pre-made box...for some reason it never turns out the same...if you've done it before then i'd say go for it, but the few people I know who have made their own boxes sounded like sh*t...their not that expensive, cut a corner somewhere else ha!!!!!

Hey go ahead and post pics of your built box, would like to see it.I see what your saying and agree with you on what you say,Just as with anything you build you take the chance of it coming it out good,or coming out bad.My first box i built,ya didn't come out to good, but i learned from it,and my next box came out great with sounds for the speaker i mounted.

If he dont want to take the chance of it not comming out good,**** then go ahead and spend the money to have it profesionally built

I would seriously recommend the downfiring system. The most clean sound I've ever heard... I have two 10"s in a downfiring box under the back seats. The only thing is, is that they don't work properly if the seats are locked down- so I keep them unlocked, but it's not noticeable. Plus, no one ever sits in my back seats anyway...

Anyhow, I've missed ya Trey Married yet? lol

Probably $60 plus shipping. Its a black carpeted down firing 10" box that fits under the rear seat. No need for jack removal.

I have the downfiring now and my cousin has the upfiring in his truck with the same sub and I like how it sounds better, i guess it all depends on the sub which has led me to wanting to make a change.

Ive been good, not married just yet lol, gotta finish my schoolin first. Takin 18 hours this semester so i have been pretty busy. But, by december Ill have 2 degrees and a minor so i gotta do what i gotta do ya know? How about you? How have you been?
