Got my plugs changed today, local shop was able to save me a headache since they're experienced with the lovely 3v, luckily they only broke 2. The guy said he has it down to a science now with these plug he says cold engine is key and he'll back em off a bit start the truck let it run for 10 minutes pull it back in and use the impact to get them out. My truck feels alive and it's great. Against everyone's suggestions he used Champions says he never has any issues with them and has been putting them in the 3v for 9 years so all in all got plugs and pinion seal changed for $450

That's the exact job I just got done doing! I am waiting on the solenoids in the mail, then I can button it up and get it running. By the looks of the inside I would guess this is something Ford would try to say was lack of oil changes and sludge was the reason for the problem. Not saying that is whats wrong, but it is one of the cop out reasons Ford likes to give back to the customer so they dont have to cover the repairs. But if your at Buss, your in good hands!

I hope you get good news. The dealerships hands are tied once it goes to Ford for a decision, but they can cut you a deal on labor if it gets to that. I have roughly $1000 in mine just in parts. probably 10-12 hours labor.
