Did they clean the bead of the rim and put sealer on it ?
That's the fix up here in Michigan.

Discount tire is moving away from doing that because it doesnt always fix it and can result in angry customers. I used to see it a lot on cadillac escalade wheels

I have been using that stuff for decades.......It works......

The truth is that Discount tire also sells wheels !

And they would rather sell a new wheel than fix a rusty or corroded one !

They didn't say anything about a sealer. The guy said he could grind down the bead, but it would be exposed and corrode much faster, but didn't hesitate to tell me that they sell wheels. I am searching for a set of OEM 15-18 F150 wheels anyway, so I declined because I can't afford what I really want lol

Ive used it on hundreds of wheels. Im not saying it doesnt work but some wheels are so bad that there is a chance it will still leak air.

Cut out the already-rotted (used) Flowmaster and welded in an 18" Cherrybomb. Sounds better, and no exhaust leak!

Falbeon, You can fix this yourself if you’re handy. Pull the wheel, break down the bead (no need to remove the tire), steel wool the corroded wheel bead area if needed, blow out the dust, slather on bead sealant, air up the tire.(Mark your tire to wheel relationship so you put it back the same for balance.) Bead sealant:

.

Ive done this on my motorcycle after I learned not to use dish soap to lube/mount the tires on aluminum rims! If you’ve never broken down a bead, it’s pretty easy with a 2x4 and a block. Probably demonstrated on YouTube.

Good to know. I'll have to give it a try. I'll probably practice on my spare in case I mess something up (which has been known to happen)

Finally replaced my dented bumper. It was dented when I bought it 3 years ago and just never replaced it.

Bought my daughter a go-kart. Loaded it up and scratched the hell out of my tailgate with the chain guard. Ugh.
