Default what a day...

so today sucked! woke up late, left my phone at home, on the road for work so i was doing a lot of driving...turned around in a trucking parking lot and "fissssssssss", i got out and looked at the tire and sure enough, i had a bolt through the tread! not a lil bolt, but a 3/4" hex head bolt. (hex head was 3/4" in diameter) so obviously the threaded part of the bolt that went through the tire was probably 3/8" in diameter! too big for a plug. GREAT! no phone to call the boss so, out with old and on went the spare tire. i got the tire patched but was told its 50/50 and i should look into new tires. i told him tires are on my list for next month so if i can a month out of the patch that would be great. fingers crossed it will last till the new tires are put on...oh the new tires are going to be 285 70 17 Kelly Safari TSR on stock rims...i found them for $175 a tire, my buddy is mounting them for me at his shop... Good deal to me from what i've been looking at, and i have been looking A LOT at tires... any comments on this tire from guys who have them?! what a day...

yea my buddy just some on his truck, they look good for asphalt, not so good for any off road driving...i need something with a lil more off road traction but not an m/t tire, i do drive on the highway a lot, but also drive off road (through woods and fields) to access manholes, and sewer lines, etc.
