Default What is this?

Hello,
i am german and drive a 2007 F150 5,4 l Triton Harley Davidson Edition.
By fixing some Problems (changing exhaust manifold on passenger side, a really, really nightmare) I have seen an unmounted Sensor at the driver site.
Maybe sensor for cooling water?
But it doesn't fit at the holes nearby!
Does anybody know, where is the right place for this sensor?

unknown sensor placed at the top of the cooling water tank

It doesn't look like something I have worked on for my truck, but it looks like it might be a proximity switch for the hood light perhaps?

Someone here posted a picture of something similar. It was mounted on the hood up above the driver side hinge under the liner. It was posted while talking about the hood switch for the remote start to work. That is the switch I belive.

I was gonna say it looks like an alarm tilt switch, but it looks like you've got your answer above already..

Great posts, thanks to all.
One more step to a perfect truck!
The next will be fixing rich codes.
By this issue I have a very awesome problem:
OEM-MAF-Sensor ordered from Rock-Auto is lying since the unbelievible time of 8 weeks at the tax-station in Frankfurt!!!
I have to wait till 31.12.2022. Then, Rock-Auto says, I will get my money back or they send another MAF.
Very fine.😭
But I have some other ideas.
Actually there is a chinise Junk-MAF in and OBD-Live-Data are not so bad.
I hope my problem are vakuum leaks found at the valve cover driver site and at the connection throttlebody-airfilter house (bad gaskets).
I'm still working by these places.🤗
I will post when it's done.

best wishes to all
