What is this?
its an aftermarket alarm system that dealers install on the vehicles while theyre on the lot. usually their insurance company makes them do that. if you look up under there, youll see where the wires are all tapped into the factory wires at the ignition. theyre very easy to disable since they were installed quickly and without much effort.
these are the alarm systems that dealers love to try to charge you 500 dollars extra for. i used to install alarms and would always see these in cars when i worked on them.

Would not make it cheaper but aftermarket alarms are more functional and offer better security than these overpriced factory alarms. Factory alarms are very limited. Most only have glass break sensors with about a 50 ft range. Most are not two way. Aftermarket alarms offer ranges up to a mile, offer 2-way paging and as well as a number of sensors, including shock, glass break, hood trigger sensors, proximity sensors, just to name a few. Aftermarket is definantly the way to go. Hope this helps.
