Google this part as well. A year ago, there was a site that was selling new parts for these rail systems, and had all the pieces for them. They may still be around. Worth a free look.

Does this look like an OEM antenna? I don't know what was originally on this truck but it has this which looks like a GPS antenna. Strange location though.... they usually are in the center.

That is an OEM antenna. It's for Sirius/XM radio.

Funny because my head unit doesn't have Sat radio. I guess the HU was changed out by previous owner or it was stripped by someone along the way of the wholesale process the vehicle went through before I got it.

Time to remove the HU to see what's behind it.

If you still have the stock radio push the aux button and see if switches to the satalite.

Thanks MatthewR!!! I pushed the AUX button and it went to SAt radio... of course I don't have it enabled but that tells me what HU I have. So this thing is what they called Audiophile I would think my front speakers would have made use of that tweeter hole in the door if this was audiophile. It will make it easy for a set of 6X8 component speakers to mount.

Does this mean the truck also had the rear sub installed at one time? I looked under drivers rear seat and didn't see any connector but there is a X cut in the carpet. Was that where the cables came out for the sub?

Yes, the cable came out from under the rear seat, drivers side carpet. There's a good chance your truck did not have the audiphile though. Must of the "mid" models were pre-wired for this from the factory. Most models came with the aux button, so that does not make it a "audiophile" model radio. The radio options and their operation are all described in the owners manual; I'll assume your truck did not have it when you bought it used. Go here and download one for free:

If you have a decent Ford dealership parts department, ask them to run an options check on your truck. With the trucks VIN you supply them, they can find out what your trucks options were from the facory.

Or, try it yourself. At the top of this forum, there's a sticky on getting a PDF version of your window sticker. It depends on the year of your truck though; Ford's database only goes back so many years, and a year gets dropped whenever a new model year is released. Give it a try. Here's the link to that sticky:

It would have. Check the 04-08 Audio Sticky for an explanation of the components of the system. Sounds like you have the base audio with the Sirius option.

You may have to open up the tweeter hole with a razor to fit larger component tweeters, but it is very easy.
