Well it happened to me.
While sick in the bed with the flu for about a week my truck was broken into. I was unaware I had been robbed, they closed the console back, locked the door and didn't take everything. I was informed by another F150 owner on how they got in. The police department was convinced I had left my doors unlocked but I was sure I did not. Now after looking around on the net I have found that the F150 is one of the easiest trucks to break into.
I am looking into purchasing the jimmy jammer. What are you guys doing to prevent this?
Thanks in advance.

Mine was broken into soon after i bought it. They used a screwdriver in the keyhole to pull the lock up. I just removed the rod from the back of the door lock and use the keypad or fob to get in.

They used a small screw driver on my to raise the plastic at the bottom of the door handle. Then another screw driver to slide the rod over, just like using the key. I thought about that. I am a little hesitant about using just the keypad or key fob but that would definately be cheaper than the jimmmy jammer.
I have never had a problem with it. If the battery is so dead that it will not operate the locks you probably need a tow anyway. But there are ways to jump the truck without opening the hood. You can get the positive wire at the starter and ground is always available to give you enough to operate the locks. I left the old broken lock cylinder in the lock so they could see the easy way was not going to work, but nothing is going to stop them from breaking a window.

Hmmm I was broken into 3 times in one year in my underground parking.... They broke a window each time! I wish they would have just jimmied the lock. Probably would be a cheaper repair. Its gotten to a point where I just leave my doors unlocked and nothing inside.
I'd be making a complaint to management. My ex works in apartment management. You would be amazed what people sue for and usually win. Some stupid examples, walking into a tree in the middle of a grassy area because of not enough light, tripping on steps that are well lit and dry and up to code, people being attacked off property and the attackers persued them on to the property and continued the attack but there was no security to stop them.
The day after I bought mine I caught somebody jimmying a screwdriver into the plastic around the driver side door lock. Apparently he thought twice about his decision when he saw a 6'2" 400lb bearded guy with a knife.
Maintenance man for my apartment complex drove another would-be thief away from it for me several months later. Everyone in my apartment complex knows that truck is mine, and they keep an eye on it for me. Probably just so I won't stab/shoot somebody on their property
Don't get me wrong, I'm a really nice guy... until you try to steal from me. My wife is worse than I am, she thought she heard somebody in the house the other night and was up with her gun in hand screaming at invisible people to show themselves or she was going to start shooting
So proud of her.
