Ive developed a small crack on my shorty heaers and wondering if I can throw a quick weld on them for a temp fix. Anyone know?

If they are stainless, use correct filler wire or rod, if you have a TIG, blast away. If you want a more permanent fix, drill a hole at the very end of each side of the crack then weld it. The fix will last a very long time.
If they are stainless and you use a TIG no paint necessary, if you use filler the filler may begin to rust, no big deal. If not stainless they are probably painted already or they will be rusty as hell, but get the paint off before you weld then a quick high temp touch up.

Disconnect your battery before elec. weld to protect your computer. Just my 2 cents worth.
