Default Water Pump

I have 2005 F-150 5.4 FX4 with 200,000 miles that I bought new. No major problems just the regular things that wear out. I wonder how many miles before the water pump may start to give problems. I have considered just going ahead and replacing it. Any suggestions or experience with the water pump.

My truck has about the same mileage and I travel a lot also. I am thinking it would not be a bad idea to go ahead and replace the pump and hoses, just so I do not get stranded in the middle of no where. With a Motorcraft pump and hoses it would be around $140 and of course cheaper with other brands of components.

This video I found on You Tube looks like it should take about 1.5 hours to do also.

When water pumps start to fail, don't they leak as the first symptom? I would think if it's not leaking, leave it alone. I would be more concerned about the hoses since they can fail without warning.
