Default Water Damage?

Tonight i was going on a call and went through some flooded roads. when i got back in my truck i noticed a new noise. when the engine gains rpms there is a (whirring?) noise that gets higher pitched. i have not had the truck long but this is new. I have no idea where to start to figure this out. Any clues to what this may be would be great. Thanks.

Is it coming through the speakers? If so you have alternator whine.

It turns out it was the the power steering pump and the water had nothing to do with it. Good timing i guess. Thanks for all the help!
