Default WARNING K&N filter!!!!

I know it's already been posted on the forums before but I just spent almost $500 getting my truck fixed because of this, I only installed it in September and it destroyed my MAF sensors. This was only the filter not a cold air system,

That sucks. Is this a common problem with all after market high flow filters or just k&n?

I try to only stick with DRY filters for this very reason. Although I have never had a problem with K&N's oiled air filters or CAI's...

Did u oil it when cleaning or this is an out of the box problem u experienced? Have heard of people over oiling them when cleaning and having issues but not out of the box.

This was out of the box problem, I never re-oiled it. The oil from the filters went into the maf sensor and killed it

I recently took my filter out for this reason but mainly because they don't catch all the dirt unless you soak them oil. Especially on a turboed engine. The turbo becomes a sand blaster to the cylinder walls with dirt that gets through them. Just my 2 cents.

Did you try cleaning your MAF for $4 before you threw $500 at it?

Is this problem just occurring on the 5.4 engines where the filter is right on top of the engine?
