Default VSS problem

Hi,

I have 2007 F150 Lariat and have had issues with transmission / VSS. When problem occures, speedometer drops irratic from hi speeds when throttle let to idle, 80-100km/h, and engine goes to failsafe mode. Transmission has been serviced march 2022, valve body, EPC, etc. This was before I bought car. Now after I bought it, OBD code p1500 comes up occationally. VSS has been cleaned today, was covered with metal sludge, think that causes irratic data? Testdrive ok. New VSS wire with plug is coming next week and gonna take car to transfluid flush change.

My question is, if this problem continues after upcoming services, whats next? What can be broken etc?

Thank U! =)

Assuming that this is like other magnetic type speed sensors I would expect that yes if it gets enough debris stuck to it that it could cause erratic signals.
since you have the p1500 code it seems to confirm a problem if some sort with what the sensor is reading.
This is the rear sensor on the side of the transmission?

Yes, ordered new one from Rockauto, should arrive next week. Hoping that and new wire fix problem.
