Default VCT solenoid - quick question

Tested vct solenoids by unplugging them and the rough idle/stalling condition stopped so i'll be replacing them soon. But is it better to drive unplugged for a couple days till my parts are in? Or is it better to plug them back in and deal with rough idle/stalling?

Install them... Driving around with holes in the valve cover is begging for trouble... Not to mention it'll most likely trip a CEL

Did not remove the actual solenoids only unplugged the electrical connections. Edge evo has been reading the codes since all this started so not worried about CEL.

Only wondering which was the lesser of two evils? Obviously the solenoids serve a purpose when operational but also it no longer stalls with the failed solenoids being denied power for now.

Your engine switched to retard/limp-home mode when you unplugged them. It will run but you're going to get even worse mileage than you got before. It'll be okay for a couple days, but I wouldn't push it too long.
