Would a bad vct sound like chain slap? I changed the oil on my company's sponsor truck 06 lariat 5.4 3v and the tick stopped for a minute or so then started again like normal. The tick gets faster when you rev it and you can hear it in the exhaust a little and it is loudest in the passenger wheel well
