Seems to just be a inherent issue I have a 07 fx4 and at 81,000 I had a bad knock when backing up a slight incline and when I would rev it the noise would go away like it was never even there. I had a 100,000 mi warranty so it took it to the dealer and they replaced the cam phasers. I got it home and it did it again right away. Long story short they had to replace the entire engine and now I have put 35,000 on the new engine and ever since day 1 it has that faint tick noise start, warm summer, winter it does not matter it is there but one thing that did help is instead of 5w-20 I put 5w-30 in it and it does not sound as loud.

Be sure to use OEM Ford parts especially for the tensioners... I have used another brand .. ( Dorman ) they fail . did this job 2 times in less than a year . So far 6 months since repair no noise runs great . I have also installed an oil pressure Gauge on dash with a trans temp gauge alzo ..

I got rid of my knocking for $300 in parts. Turns out I had two problems and fixed one, the one I considered could cause damage down the road if left unattended.
As far as the start up noise goes those are your lash adjusters momentarily running dry. Why this happens I don't know. I know this to be the because I replaced my lash adjusters and followers and the racket they made at initial start up was so bad I thought I had screwed something up.
I had the infamous diesel sound and persistent ticking. After replacing the adjusters and followers my diesel sound only starts after warm up. Once in a while I'll get the startup noise but the engine is otherwise quiet. Every single of my 24 lash adjusters were jammed in the extended position. About 6 of my followers had excessive play.
80% of replacing phasers is getting the valve covers off. If you're in that deep go all the way and replace lifters and followers. Use Ford OEM, many sources on ebay. As far as tensioners and chains are concerned, that requires another substantial amount of work that may or may not be necessary. These engines have multiple sources of noise.
I would recommend that you buy an automotive e stethoscope on ebay for about $10 and use it on your valve covers. If you lash adjusters are the problem you be able to hear it clearly.

nope .. used general tools for this job .. did use 2 large vise grips to hold cams in place.. otherwize sockets and wrenches and a torque wrench for all bolts and phaser bolts.. not a hard job at all .. just takes 2 days. at a slow pace.. the tear down took the longest .. alot quicker to reassemble.held pedal to floor when restarting to prime oil in tensioners then full start. grit teeth when restarting.. lol been running like a champ since

whats involved in replacing the lash adjusters ??,, i performed phaser replace 2 times..
[ first time crap parts } never replaced lash adjusters.. but they dont make any noise ..engine is pretty quiet except injectors ..

once the phasers are out remove the cam. The followers and adjusters can be pulled out by hand.

To me, it 'sounds' like your your intial cold start ticking is either rocker or timing chain related. Then, when it warms up you could be hearing the noisy injectors these engines have. The phaser noise is definately a deeper knock sound, almost like a 'rod noise' when the engine is warm. The exhaust manifolds leaking can make quite the racket too. Before starting the engine cold next time, hold your foot all the way down on the accelator prior to, and while cranking the engine over (for a few seconds). This will prime the oil system. See if your cold start noises go away. That will help you diagnose if its valve train/timing chain, or manifold gaskets.
