Default vacuum hose

Hi all,Im hoping you guys and girls can help in getting my truck back on the road after a 2 year layoff. i bought a project 2004 f150 super crew from a friend with the infamous 5.4 triton engine, it as a misfire and wont idle at all. Here's whats happened so far. installed the following items.
New fuel pump
New spark plugs ( what a crappy job they were to change
New sensors
1 New phaser
New cam chain/guides and tensioners. (complete kit)
what i did notice was this hose just hanging around doing nothing the other end appears to go down the back of the engine somewhere. Im not sure were its suppose to live and was hoping someone here may know.

Thanks in advance

I may be wrong, but that is only used on the 4wd trucks. I have one hanging freely on mine too; not connected to anything and sealed. I forget what that hose does for the 4wd, so maybe someone more knowledgeable can tell you.

You did check the fuel pump driver module under the rear of the truck right ? It's a known part that rust and corrodes away which will cause your truck to crank all day with no start. There is a thread on this topic on this site.

That hose is used on 4wd only. It’s for the wheel end actuators on the hub.

hopefully he did not waste the time and money on replacing the fuel pump before the FPDM…
