Quality not the same.. Go to an el cheapo or a beat down station and fill up then wsit to see what happens.. Your truck will skip and sputter while burning the hell outta whatever water or trash you filled up with.. Trust me on this.. I've filled up cheap and paid for it..

So because he drives a gas truck, makes him an expert? Not sure about that. Also, i'm not sure about the hype around BP either, but Ford recommends it. I do know they aren't apart of the TopTier gas class. I.E. Shell, Chevron, QT, Exxon, etc... who add detergents. GM, BMW, Honda, Audi, Toyota all recommend Top Tier in their cars. I'll find some time and research the BP and Ford connection.

Well...that was easy, Ford and BP are just in a partnership. No real value with BP compared to other name brands. I suppose that since I've basically been using Kroger and Wal-Mart gasoline (low quality) that i've create a low, rough idle along with having 101K on the truck. Next fill up i'll add another tank of BP, or other higher quality brand and see if I still notice a difference. Thanks for the replies!

Ive never felt a difference in my truck in the summer... But in the winter.. We have a shell station in a town over.. And for some reason it always makes my truck seem smoother.. Ive never ran BP fuel... But i use that shell from now on... I run there premium in my boat.. Its a bit more..

I use the chit out of sea foam also!... Snake oil...whale sperm.. Whatever you want to call it... Run it in my boat every other tank or third tank.

I'm a plastics engineer, so we get oil quality reports (or whatever you wanna call them) and they basically rank the gases based off a multitude of tests. The gas truck driver will say its all the same cause its all oil, it all gets refined, so its all going to come from a refinery where he fills up. Of course he'll say its the same. It definitely isn't! The best rated gases out there are based off the chemicals they add to make them run better and cleaner. The cheaper the gas (walmart, el cheapo, whatever..) the less chemicals, the more 'yellow' the gas will look, the worst it is basically.. Amoco (or BP) 93 octane is used by all autmotive makers on their material testing because its the most potent (hands down the best quality gas out there) which is why Ford recommends it. If you can, stick with your BP (amoco), Shell, Gulf, Sunoco, Exxon Mobil, they are hands down the better gas solely because of the added chemicals that go into their oil when making their fuels. My '95 ran like crap on anything but BP or Shell, but it was also tuned up pretty well, it would knock and have no throttle response with cheap gas, but with BP, Shell or Sunoco it ran like a freakin rocket ship. My 2006 recommends BP, it doesn't run any better or worse but I can get better MPGs. hope that helps..
