Hey guys, would like some thoughts & advice on these tires. There's a set of them on craigslist for 200$, supposedly with 9/32+ of tread left. I'm looking for some 33s, and these would be a cheap option for now. I've heard mixed things about a recall on them though, and not sure what to do. Going to be leveling my fx4, and would be nice to have some bigger tires on it!

Here's some pics:

Id go for them. Check them over real good, have a tread depth gauge with you. make sure there are no plugs or patches. check sidewalls for cuts gouges etc...money dictates....to me its much better to spend $200 than $800-1000 for tires. especially if you want to save up to get better set.
I picked up a set of Scorpions for $50 with 10/32nds on them..i was not going to pass that up..
Good Luck

It depends if you are in an area that gets snow. I bought a set of these for my fx4, and they were the worst tires I've ever had. Horrible for traction in cold weather and even worse in snow and icy conditions. These tires were brand new takeoffs that I picked up for cheap. I just replaced them with dura tracs after only putting 5000 kms on them. If you are in a warm climate, you should be ok with the continentals.

I wouldn't go for it then. You will be better off with bald factory tires than the continentals. They suck in snow!
