OK fellas I need to call upon the transmission swap experts I'm a member of Ford Explorer forums and clubs and there's not a whole lot of transmission swapping going on there which is why I'm here I know a bunch of you gguys have swapped 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive manual to automatic vice versa I have a 2003 Ford Explorer four wheel drive automatic 5r55w I want to drop a 2005 manual Mustang transmission in 5r55s this thing. And still keep my 4 wheel drive the transmission will bolt up to the engine but changing the tail shaft to a transfer case and getting the computer to accept a manual transmission is what I'm trying to figure out. Can this be done? Clearly im not worried about easy or i would just put another automatic in.
