Default Unusual CEL Problem....

my 2005 F150 was recently taken to the dealer to replace the idler pulley and tensioner. Due to my truck having a hesitation while on the throttle I had them flash the computer. When the truck was taken to the shop no CEL was on. After I got the truck back now the light is constantly on. The technician noted in the forms that the light came on after the flash, but did not throw any codes. Everything seems to be running fine, and there is no lack of power.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is this a normal thing after the computer was flashed?

Thanks

I have to agree...I've never gotten my truck back from the dealer with the CEL light on.. I know a reflash will force the PCM to reset all the emission flags and it takes some time for them to get to "ready for testing" status, but I don't think the CEL light is on during this time. I think something went wrong with the reflash...........

Yeah. I had picked it up about ten minutes before close and it didn't really stand out until I was already down the road. I have never had a check engine light come on in this vehicle until now. In my past vehicles there was this huge amber square, not a small engine hidden in the corner of the dash. You know how it goes, there probably going to tell me its not their problem. But on the other hand the hesitation is now gone. I've tried to make it do it and it wouldn't.

Take it back and have them fix it...you said it was noted on the service order by the Tech who performed the re-flash.

Well this morning I did some checking under the hood. I discovered that the technician did not reconnect a sensor on the front of the engine block. I connected it and the light went out. I have also went for a drive and everything is good. Thanks for the responses.
