The Ultimate Tranny cooler install (at least I think so..)
#11
$90 on eBay! Don't forget to purchase a remote filter kit and flush out a used cooler before installing it in your truck.
I just towed over 300 miles this past weekend and I never hit 160 on the scangauge!!! I have an electric temp gauge mounted in the test port bung of the tranny and that gauge won't go above 185-190!!! I'm completely satisfied!!

Hows the A/C performance with the new cooler? I took this same route when battling a trans. temp. issue on a 2002 f250. I put a big cooler out front and my A/C would suffer when the tranny cooler got hot.

What is the coolest thing (no pun intended) about running this huge cooler, is that I can tow for several hours, open the hood, grab both red hoses, and the inlet side is too hot to hold, and the right side is warm but not too much to hold on. It's really efficient. The difference this thing makes is really incredible.

Hey, there are no dumb questions here. I added the extra filter for two reasons. One was to protect the trans from any particles from the cooler coming loose since it is used. The second is to allow me to change it quick and easy compared to dropping the pan to change the other one.
