basically i want to have a tranny temp and tach with out having a bunch of autometers everywhere....i already have my egt and boost on order and i dont want to run a ton of diffrent guages
if you use the Livewire, then you have no use for the aeroforce gauge, if you have an Xcal, then you just flash the EEC and thats it.....then plug in the gauge, it doesnt do any programming, it just interprets the parameters.

i guess it would be cheaper to go and get the live wire as its both the tuner and the monitor i want...i just didnt want something that i have to have suction cupped on the window to monitor and use, to bad they dont have a pod like the edge

btw thanks, other piggy backs ive used in the past had to be hard wired in and i wasnt sure if the sct tuners were forced to be connencted or just connencted when tunning was happening...

the guy who founded SCT was a powertrain engineer for Ford...the Xcal and Livewire use an OBD2 connector to flash the easy way. Jerry was one of the first to reflash and adjust parameters via the OBD2 port, rather than the flash through the EEC's service port.

see what you learn when you switch to obd2 domestics...

man let me tell ya imports are a diffrent ball game, some one should jump on the sct idea and make em for the other guys....

well do you or anyone else know of a mounting solution that isnt a stuck to winshield idea....

also is the livewire the same as tuning the xcal, like just more features? and able to monitor things better?

sorry for all the questions just realy new to the world of obd2 domestics, im more schooled on the afc's style piggy backs and stand alones of the import crowd

The Livewire is basically like the Xcal with a couple major differences.

1. You can have 3 custom tunes as well as 3 canned tunes on the livewire.
2. It gives you the guages like the Edge programmer.

The one drawback I have heard on the livewire is the size of it, other than that I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Looks like I may have spoken too soon concerning the Livewire, may want to check this out in regards to it. If you're really interested in it though I would give Mike a call at Troyer Performance and talk to him, he's highly regarded in the F150 tuning world.

Livewire has some intermittent software/firmware/application issues.
