Default tuner questions??

So I've been researching tuners. I know there are many threads on tuners and I have read quite a few. Currently running a drop in k&n and SI/SO exhaust, not sure what it is as it was on truck when I bought it. I'm looking at doing the gotts mod soon. I think I've decided to get the sct sf3 tuner. I would like to get better throttle response and a little bit more pep out of my truck since recently putting 20's with 33x12.50s seems to have made it slightly more sluggish, and any mpg would also be a plus. If running the gotts should/could you claim CAI on the tune if running it with k&n drop in? Also how good is the sct 3 for what I'm wanting on my 5.4? Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks

If just running the drop in filter, you wouldn't need to add a CAI on the tune as it doesn't change the width of the stock intake tubing. Better filter yes but if still running the stock intake, no need for having the tune compensate for it. And the SCT unit is very good, def one of the generally preferred tuning units for Ford.

Franchi pretty much answered it. No, there is no need to account for the drop in filter or Gotts in tuning. It keeps the stock MAF configuration. The sf3 is good, may want to look into custom tunes later on, just for a better overall experience, but the canned tunes will work fine also.

Thanks Otto, I was more wondering about the gotts than anything and you answered that
