i was just wondering if you have to leave the tuner on the truck once you download a tune or not. and if you could get a canned tune off somebody without buying a tuner. thx

 

The way the programmers normally work is it pulls your factory data off the computer and then loads a canned tune on the truck. The programmer will normally only hold one factory making it almost impossible to use on another vehicle. Once the tune is loaded the programmer no longer needs to be plugged in.

 

No you do not need to leave the tunner connected to the truck, but you can NOT plug it into another truck and download another tune...HEX protected.
