Default tuner and efans randomly turning on

So i get home and shut off my truck, the fans keep going...im pretty sure this is normal for troyers kit, and shut off. A min or two later they kick on again and my gryphon cs tuner kicks on ... they both run for a minute or less and shut off, a few mins later same thing. Any one else have an issue like this? I think a battery maybe but not overly sure.

Interesting..............I don't know how your fan kits gets it's main power, I am guessing unswitched from the battery, with the switched on/off are the temp probe, and the vss.

The gryphon is the odb II port. Both of them would/should have a monitor from the vss (vehicle speed sensor i believe) and the other the switch line from the ac compressor. The fan controller uses that signal to turn on the efans when current is present, and the gryphon uses it for monitoring the engine performance (for the tune you have already loaded).

The only thing the two don't share is the troyer temp probe.

The two things they do share in common is the vss sensor and the switch line to the compressor (which should be dead when the truck is turned off) and the pcm. Turn the a/c unit off. See if it still does it. Disconnect the edge if that doesn't do it. If the fans still turn on and off, disconnect the vss to the controllers next, and then the ac switch. Could very well be a controller.

Efans are driven off a triggered ignition source per their instructions. The gryphon is confusing me

Really though, try to removing the controller (either by power wire or trigger wire) It may be causing an unintentional feedback every time the fans kick on. Or call php and see what they say. If I remember right, the gryphon is powered on through the OBDII port. Good luck, really strange but if the gryphon didn't turn on before the efan setup, the cycling of the efan controller might be it.
I am buying the motorcraft fans and have the controller, just like blownford started that long thread last year. Hope I don't run into anything like you are because I have had the controller and am sure it is either out of warranty or will be out soon. I am subscribed to this thread, post what you find!

Autozone tested the battery and it said it had a bad cell. I got a new one and it still runs when the ignition is off until it gets below temp but i think the tuner issue is good

You must have wired them wrong. I have troyer fans and never had that problem.

Negative. I am an electronics tech. The 5 wires are with in my abilities. Theres more a issue with the truck keeping the ignition circuit hot.

Either the controller or a faulty temp probe. Call the manufacturer of it and see if there's a way to test it; although it seems it's a simple variable resister. Maybe you can heat it's tip with a heat gun while checking the wire output with a volt/ohm meter.

Battery fixed it i think. Cleaned corrosion off the negative terminal (best guess is it was acting as a capacitor and providing a back feed) and reset the ecm and its good so far with the new battery.
