Trying to pinpoint this vibration
I have a 2007 f150 2wd v6 5spd. It has had a vibration around 35-45 mph but recently it has gotten worse. I am trying to narrow it down to a brake issue, wheel/tire issue, or drive shaft. The vibration would show up when braking as well so I think I have two vibrations from different locations. It seems like the vibration is from the rear as I feel it in the seat and in the shifter more but under harder braking the whole truck shakes (steering wheel, wipers on the windshield, etc) I can also feel an intermittend feeling like maybe the brakes grabbing a little more then releasing as I'm almost stopped which is making me thing warped rotors.
First up is balancing the wheels and turning the rotors on the rear since it will be under $30 to take it to the shop down the road if I take them off myself.
If this doesn't help can anyone give me advice on checking the drive shaft? I have read that the u-joints are not changeable, is this right?
Any info, pointers, tips etc is appreciated. I will be doing the balancing and turning Friday and will post an update.

It sounds like your on the right track, reply back after you get your balance done and the rotors cut. A u-joint going bad will make noise-clunk-squeak, and when a u-joint starts vibrating it will be at different speeds. Good luck.
