Default True Dual question

I know this is a highly discussed topic, but what are the benefits from a true dual to an in 1 out two aftermarket muffler. I know it helps with sound, but does it gain considerably more gas mileage and performance? Also is it possible to do exhaust tips exiting on each side in front of the rear wheels? And lastly any idea of what cost would be like.

True duals are usually cheaper because you don't need a muffler. Sound is the biggest thing, true duals will rip and be loud, whereas a muffler will be more toned. Gas mileage and Performance is minimal, and the less restrictive the better in my opinion, even though one could argue that. You can only do exhaust before the rear wheel on the passenger side, because the gas tank is on the drivers side. and i payed $350 for true dual exhaust with no muffler.
