Hey guys need a little help here. I have a 2004 f150 5.4, newer body style. My old motor locked up on me so I iv been doing the engine swap in my garage. First time ever doing a project this big. So I got a rebuilt motor, iv installed, a new starter, alternator, spark plugs, battery, and a/c compressor. So iv put all the fluids in the truck that it needs and I got to cranking it, and it is having a hard time turning over. It'll only spin over like 3 times very slowly and than it just clicks...and the starter will start smoking. And iv replaced the starter 3 times and it's still doing the same thing...I need help on this one, I'm completely stumped

Pull the plugs out and unplug the fuel pump and see how easily it cranks.
